In the meadow we can build a snowman, and pretend that he is Parson Brown

I love this format.

Today I...

  • Finished 30 of my 40 Christmas cards. The ones remaining are ones that Jon needs to sign as well. When I say finished, I mean finished, ready to go into the mailbox finished. The first batch will be heading out tomorrow.
  • Started my new job, and I love it. My new manager is awesome and I feel like I am really catching on quickly. In fact they are leaving me alone tomorrow afternoon! It's strange being home at night though.
  • I'm making a list and researching cookies to make for the holidays. I think I'm borderline obsessed, or just bored!
  • Jon and I are watching Stepbrothers and I would like all of blog land to know that I invented the world douchers. Seriously, when Jon and I heard it we both started laughing and even he said that I invented that word. I've been saying it for months and months. I'm not even kidding.
Anyway, I would love to tell you that my laptop cord is in route so I could show you some pictures, but it's not. I'll make sure to save a Christmas card to post after I get them all sent out. 5/6 days, GO ME!!

Later on, we'll conspire, As we dream, by the fire

Today I...

  • Did six loads of laundry and FOLDED them! That's a big deal.
  • Made Lemon Glaze Cookies, doubled the batch to have extra in the freezer
  • Brainstormed different ideas for Christmas dinner, I'm so thankful to be off this year. So far it includes Prime Rib and Twice Baked Potatoes, still thinking about other things
  • Missed my family a little bit and the Christmas traditions that we have had. Time to start thinking about my own traditions!
  • Drove by my new place of employment to double check where the bus stop was since I start my new job tomorrow.
Cheers to a good week!

Don't confuse neediness for love

I was laying in bed last night watching Wedding Crashers with Jon, and I was thinking to myself, uh, I haven't blogged today. DAMNIT!! I messed up and missed yesterday. Do you think if I blog twice today it will make up for it?

I tried to scrapbook last night and decided I forgot how to do it. I was putting some paper with the picture that I'm working on and it just wasn't working. Seriously, is it possible to forget how to scrapbook? I've been looking at some inspiration online today hoping that something will come to me and I can at least get this page done.

I'm in the middle of a three day weekend before starting my new job, and I can say with full confidence that I haven't done anything so far. Trust me, it's not for lack of having things to do around the house, it's because of pure lack of motivation.

Anyway, maybe I will be back tonight with some inspiration links for you all. OH and my computer cable to plug into the wall broke again last night! This is the second one I will have to replace, so you all won't be getting any pictures for a while. Sorry!!

Changes are taking the pace I'm going through

Tonight as I was leaving work, I felt a huge weight being lifted off my shoulders. I left my current position on a positive note, and I'm proud of myself for doing so. As much as I wanted to e-mail my managers and tell them everything I felt they have done wrong, I restrained myself and remembered that I may want to work with them in some capacity eventually.

It was strange tonight, everyone knowing that I was leaving. So many congratulations from ward clerks, CNA's and nurses. It really validated to me that I did do a fantastic job while in this position and I feel like I'm really going to be able to carry that over to my new job.

It just clicked to me that some of you may not know what I do. I was doing Materials Management for the local hospital here in Eugene. I am still employed through PeaceHealth, but have taken on a position in materials at our home health office. I am so excited for this change because not only does it come with regular hours, but I am also taking on more of a challenge and more responsibility. I really think I'm going to enjoy this new position.

Oooh fuuudge!

Tonight Jon and I are watching "A Christmas Story." It reminds me of my dad and is my favorite Christmas movie. Ironically, it also came out the year I was born. Gotta love Ralphie.

Tomorrow is my last day at my current job. I am staying employed with PeaceHealth, but am going to be working at the Home Health division and I'm SO excited for this opportunity. I will miss a number of people in the hospital, but I'm looking forward to my schedule changing to days and also having holidays and weekends off.

So far I'm doing pretty good on posting once a day!!

Man, man, man, man, man, manly man... do do do do...

Thank you card for masculine swap.
Birthday card for the Masculine swap.

Bella card for a swap. I might make a couple more if I run out of Christmas cards.

Two days down. Just in the nick of time today.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I am determined to blog everyday in December. I have lots to talk about!! First, it's starting to look like Christmas time around here and I'm getting SO excited to bake and make Christmas dinner.

This is our mantle for our woodburning fireplace in our home. I decorated the mantle for Fall with garland and pine cones and it look cute, but I LOVE this theme. It's not completely done yet because I really want some clear lights on it and I think I might hang some of the smaller silver balls from the greenery. I bought the stocking holders from Target on the day after Thanksgiving and I love them! They are nice and heavy. I bought the vases from Michael's and they were filled with pinecones but they are SO pretty with the teal/icey blue and silver ornaments. I think it looks great! Now if we could just get some pictures up on that bare wall above the fireplace.

I am also almost finished with my homemade Christmas cards! All I have left to do is cut and paste the sentiments inside of the cards and they will be good to go. I'm so happy that I actually finished so many and have the cards all addressed and ready to go (except that top stack, it's waiting for addresses).

I'll be back tomorrow either talking about football or swap cards, hmm, which one??
